Sicko – movie review
Dh and I watched this movie a while back. While an interesting portrayal of “what’s wrong with American health care”, the movie purports to draw a link between countries that have socialised medicine (U.K., France, Canada) and the longevity of the citizens of those countries compared to the US. There may be some truth to that, however one also needs to compare lifestyles to get a true picture. Perhaps the people in France and the UK move more and eat less, for example. Perhaps portion sizes are smaller. Perhaps they have learned how to control their stress levels better. The point is, many issues come into play here, not just socialised vs. pay medicine.
